What types of arthritis will Joint Relief "work with"?
What factors might affect efficacy?
As we discuss on our
general arthritis page,
Joint Relief is a recommended "nutritional supplement"
for both osteoarthritis and the more serious
rheumatoid arthritic condition. This is not meant to
infer that Joint Relief
is a treatment or cure for arthritis. About 50% of our users
report back quite favorably; however, it should be noted that
statistically, that about 30% of arthritic sufferers claim
that the straight MSM capsules they purchase in their local
health food stores is helpful. (MSM is one of Joint Relief's
ingredients.) We asked users who had used both which they
found more helpful and the vast majority indicated Joint
Relief; however, we were not able to find any correlation
among users as to why one benefited greatly, and another
very little at all.
One thing we discovered
very early on was that products like Joint Relief are very
cumulative in their effect. If you are the kind of person
who is apt to take the product for a day or two and then
forget to be regular, don't even buy it. We spoiled our
customers in the early years with products like
Cansema salve,
where most users just apply the product once and forget about it.
Joint Relief, and this includes any of the other support products
on the market that address arthritis, does not work in
one application. Many of our customers report back to
tell us that they saw tremendous benefits, but only
after taking the product regularly for two or even three weeks.
Aside from
pH balancing, we
know of no other single product or protocol on the market
today that will address arthritis. If we did, we would
carry it.
What are its active ingredients?
We cover this on the
main Joint Relief page. The main
ingredients are: Chicken Collagen Type II, methyl-sulfonyl-methane
(MSM), glucosamine sulfate. On this same page we provide
a description of what each does.
What are users saying about effectiveness?
We covered this
in Question 341 (above). About
50% report back quite favorably, regardless of arthritis
type. The effects, again, are cumulative. You should
be prepared to take the product for at least two to
three weeks in many your assessment as to whether or
not the product works for you.
Are there contraindication or toxicity issues?
Absolutely none, when
the product is taken according to instructions.
What kind of clinical trials have been done on Joint Relief?
None have been done on
Joint Relief, per se, but scores of studies have been
done on its active ingredients. We provide references to these
studies on the Joint Relief page.
What is the shelf-life of this products?
At least one year.
This product, like most capsulated supplements, is fairly
stable, with its low moisture, A(w) factor, and
the low reactivitiy of its ingredients. Just keep
in a cool, dry place.
