mesenchyme (Greek,
"mesos" middle, "enchyma" infusion). A diffuse network of cells
which form the embryonicmesoderm. It gives rise to connective
tissues, blood and blood vessels, the lymphatic system, and cells
of the monomuclear phagocyte system. (Syn. "mesenchyma". Adj.
