mesoderm (Greek,
"mesos" middle, "derma" skin). A primary germ layer of the
embryo lying between ectoderm and endoderm. From it comes
all connective tissues; muscular, circulatory, lymphatic,
urogenital and skeletal systems; and the linings of the
body cavities. (Adj. mesodermic, mesodermal).
