Earlier this month,
I sent out an advisory concerning
civil unrest in Ecuador, where we have facilities. That's over now and things have returned to normal. However, now we hear reports of massive protests continuing around the world: in Chile, Lebanon, Spain, Hong Kong, to name the most prominent hot spots. And now in the U.S. there is a mounting evidence of a planned presidential coup --- assassination if necessary --- against Donald Trump! How surreal should it get before prepping starts to make sense?
"If ponies rode men and grass ate the cows . . ."
(If you're in a world you no longer recognize, you're not alone.
At a time when everything seems turned upside down, perhaps it's time to consider sensible preparations. People prepare for winter, hurricanes, tornadoes, for all manner of natural disaster. Do current events not kindle the same sense of urgency?)
The unusual title for this post comes from the lyrics of
a British song, reportedly played at the closing of the
Battle
of Yorktown. Called "The World Turned Upside-Down," perhaps this song needs an update. For my part,
I can't think of a time in my life where nothing looks normal anymore, more now than ever. A few months ago, I was talking to a man who happened to unload some gold and silver locally. It appears he had a horrible time not only selling his precious metal coins. He had problems getting anything close to market value. Stopping to access his experience, he lamented that in a crisis situation, precious metals, a usually stalwart resource in troubled times, could well be worthless. "Why would you say that?" I asked. "With so much counterfeit metal on the market, it has lost it's perceived value. And testing isn't a viable option when society really breaks down." This response reminds me of a social experiment Mark Dice did years ago, when he offered pedestrians the choice between a gold coin worth $140 and a Snickers Candy Bar -- gratis -- no charge. Everyone chose the candy bar. There's a lot of presumed values that go down the toilet when society breaks down -- when the intuitive gets replaced by the counterintuitive. I learned that when I read a translation of Pitirim Sorokin's Man & Society in Calamity (1942) -- with historical examples of people eating tree bark to try to stay alive and women prostituting themselves for a cigarette. If -- like myself -- you were raised in the U.S., you've known prosperity for so long, such historical accounts of abject poverty and desperation seem other worldly. And yet today we are confronting conditions that were the precursors to these historical examples that occurred not even a century ago. A couple months ago, I created something I called the Preppers Corner -- which explains the value of truly curative compounds and products, and their perceived value in a broken world where government agencies aren't so ubiquitous in their ongoing terror campaigns to suppress natural cures and elevate the pricing for secondary effect-laden, and often dangerous, pharmaceutical drugs. At the same time, I provided bundles of products that could be used for bartering, self-healing, or "urban doctoring" -- all staples of "life in calamity" -- the very kind that appears to be coming our way. In this spirit of examining the direction of the world, and not necessarily the world the way we would have it, I ask our customers to check out our Preppers Corner and the bundles we offer. Black Salve:
Paperback Version Released
Last month we announced the release
of Black Salve, the most instructional book on the use of escharotics ever written.
The digital edition has been available on the author storefront
since the end of July. We have now released the paperback edition, which is available
on my personal storefront.
In mid-September, we are releasing a second edition in both digital and print editions.
(This is a updated version, which includes Appendix F, which is an extensive personal pictorial of my
removal of skin cancers and actinic keratosis through the years.)
Black Salve is coming out at a particular crucial time now. There are now numerous parties on the internet offering advice on how to use to the salve, and much of this information is incorrect and even harmful. It is my hope that Black Salve will help restore a proper footing on the best way to use Black Salve to treat diseased tissue. The book begins with an introduction by Bradford S. Weeks, M.D. -- an integrative physician in the States whom we have known for many years, an is illustrated by the famous political illustrator, David Dees. I dare say it is a must read for anyone interested in escharotic medicine. Questions about the book can be addressed to greg@gregcaton.com.
